Columbus High School FFA students brought home numerous awards from the 98th Annual Texas FFA Convention in Fort Worth July 6-10. Students also engaged in educational speakers, leadership workshops, networking with industry leaders and more.
Jack Dudensing, Brayden Fisher and Leira Gonzales were awarded the Lone Star Degree, one of the highest honors a Texas FFA member can receive. A Lone Star Degree requires hundreds of hours in agricultural education and experience, participating in FFA government leadership, completed various activities and more.
Colby Lewis also received the Richard Wallrath Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to FFA or 4-H seniors who plan to study agriculture, life science and related fields at a college or university.
“Our members had an amazing time representing Columbus FFA, making memories, celebrating accomplishments, and experiencing everything that Texas FFA has to offer,” the school posted on Facebook. “We are so proud of each member who represented our chapter with pride and professionalism.”
