Hines and Peggy Harrison 221 Oak Cluster
This beautiful corner lot at Montezuma and Oak Cluster has something to admire from every angle.
While photographing the property, Garden Club member Kay Swor visited with homeowner Peggy Harrison. The Harrisons have called this home for the past 20 years, and their landscape has been a labor of love that continues to evolve. Their dedication is evident throughout the yard.
Approaching from Montezuma, visitors are greeted by an array of colorful plants, including Mexican heather, wild petunias, ferns, plumbago and many other flowering varieties. Potted plants welcome guests at the front entrance, while a climbing air potato vine makes its way gracefully up the wall.
From Oak Cluster, a moss-draped oak tree and half-height wooden fence create a classic Southern setting. Beach spider lilies line the fence, and a cozy seating area nestled beneath the oak invites friends and neighbors to stop and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. A vegetable garden tucked into the backyard completes the landscape.
The Columbus Garden Club congratulates the Harrisons on creating a yard that offers beauty, color and interest throughout the summer season.
