Harris County pursuit ends at Weimar McDonald’s

WEIMAR — A high-speed pursuit that began in Harris County ended Thursday afternoon at the McDonald’s in Weimar, where the suspect was taken into custody.

According to the city of Weimar, the pursuit ended at approximately 3:30 p.m. July 16. Officials said the suspect was taken into custody without posing any further threat to the community.

Law enforcement officers from the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, Austin County Sheriff’s Office and the Weimar Police Department remained at the scene following the arrest.

Authorities asked motorists to avoid the area while officers completed their investigation.

No additional information about the suspect or the circumstances surrounding the pursuit had been released as of press time.
