Dave Campbell’s Texas High School Football released their predictions for the 2026 Weimar Wildcats season.
The Wildcats ended the 2025 season with an 8-3 overall record and a 4-2 district record to enter the playoffs in fourth-place district standings.
Their season came to an end in the bi-district round of the playoffs where Refugio won with a score of 35-23.
The Wildcats will be without their star running back, Jerron Fisher this year. Despite losing Fisher, the Wildcats have plenty of returning players that can help the Wildcats push their way back into the playoffs this season.
Quarterback Col l in Morrison is one of those returning players. He finished the 2025 season, completing 64% of his passes for 679 yards, nine touchdowns and seven interceptions.
Morrison will look to improve all those numbers in 2026, and he has a great supporting cast to achieve that goal. Running backs Ace Mesa and Ty Chmelik will also return to the Wildcats this season.
They wi ll make the Wildcats rush attack explosive, but it may be a tough task. In addition to losing Fisher, the Wildcats also lost several key players on the offensive and defensive line.
For a team that loves to run the football in a district full of teams who also love to run the ball, the Wi ldcats wi ll need to prioritize the lines on both sides of the ball. If they can’t establ ish or stop the run, a tough season could be even tougher.
DCTHSF predicts the Wildcats to place fourth in the district standings again, securing another playoff run.
