Chandler Vickers is the most recent achiever of Nesbitt Memorial Library’s “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” award for reading prowess.
The program encourages parents to read to their children from birth to five years old to teach pre-reading skills like letter sounds, large vocabulary and foundational knowledge of the world. Registration is free, and progress is tracked by paper log or app.
