Weimar ISD approved an upgraded compensation plan for teachers and staff in its July 27 board meeting.
“These investments reflect our belief that attracting and retaining outstanding educators and staff starts with valuing the people who serve our students every day,” the district said in a Facebook post.
The new plan includes: $2,000 increase for all teachers $2 per hour increase for hourly employees 3% increase from midpoint for administrators, directors and counselors Increases to stipends and extra duty days $64 per month per employee increase in district contribution toward health insurance According to the district, the compensation plan is funded through a mixture of state funding, local property tax revenue and district budgeting.
“This year, the district also prioritized compensation in its budget because attracting and retaining high-quality teachers and staff is one of the most important investments we can make for our students,” the district added. “The board approved these raises while maintaining a fiscally responsible budget and continuing to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars.”
