EAGLE LAKE — Residents are invited to take part in the inaugural Eagle Lake Pool Noodle Purge, a community event designed to encourage outdoor fun, movement and neighborhood connections on Saturday, Aug. 15.
The event will begin at noon when the town alarm sounds, signaling the start of the citywide celebration. Organizer Jeremiah Paige said participants are encouraged to bring a pool noodle or water gun and join in the festivities.
According to Paige, the event is intended for all ages and is not a competition. Instead, organizers hope to create an opportunity for residents to enjoy a day of playful interaction and community fellowship.
Several themed activity areas will be available throughout Eagle Lake, including:
• Rough-Play Zone at the E.H. Henry property for teens and adults seeking a more active noodle battle.
• Kids’ Safety Zone at Veterans Memorial Park for supervised play.
• Water Tag Zone behind Buc-ee’s featuring water guns and water balloons.
• Cool-Off Zone in the Dollar General parking lot for participants who want to take a break.
Organizers ask participants to keep the event safe by using only pool noodles or water toys, avoiding contact with anyone not participating, refraining from head strikes and keeping all play lighthearted.
A Noodle Hub will open downtown at 11 a.m. for anyone needing a pool noodle before the event begins.
Paige also thanked Paula Richardson of Resilient Path Navigations for donating water guns and water balloons for the Water Tag Zone.
Following the event, organizers plan to ask residents whether they would like to see the Pool Noodle Purge become an annual Eagle Lake tradition.
