Police seek tips, video after Eagle Lake golf course burglary

EAGLE LAKE — Eagle Lake police are asking residents and businesses to check surveillance footage as investigators work to identify multiple suspects believed to be involved in an Aug. 2 burglary at the Eagle Lake Municipal Golf Course.

Officers responded to the golf course, 210 Golf Course Road, after multiple golf cart storage units were reportedly entered. Several privately owned golf carts were removed, and additional property was damaged, according to police.

Investigators are seeking surveillance, doorbell or other security camera footage recorded between 3 and 6 a.m. Aug. 2 that may show suspects, stolen golf carts, suspicious vehicles or other activity connected to the burglary.

Golf carts associated with the investigation were recovered or reportedly seen near North and Stephens streets, the 600 block of Melody Lane, the 200 block of FM 3013 East, North McCarty Avenue, West Waverly Road and the 100 through 1500 blocks of East State Street.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of those involved. Tips must be submitted directly to Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous and qualify for a reward.

The investigation remains ongoing. Police cautioned residents not to approach or confront anyone suspected of involvement.
