Community members can compete in a pickleball tournament fundraiser and enjoy other fun activities at Colorado County Habitat for Humanity’s Pickleball Palooza Sept. 18-19.
Limited to 32 teams, solo players or duos will compete at the Columbus Athletic Barn, located at 2107 Walnut St., Columbus. The Friday and Saturday event will also have bucket raffles, golf simulators and corn hole.
Registration is $50 for a single entry to be matched with a partner or $100 for a duo team. Each participant is guaranteed to play three games and will receive a swag bag with an event t-shirt and sponsor goodies.
Each side game will offer a 50/50 prize with half going to the winner and the other half to Habitat.
The tournament will kick off with round robin pool play either Friday evening or Saturday morning. The winning teams will advance to bracket play on Saturday afternoon.
Court practice leading up to the event may be coordinated through the Columbus Athletic Bar at 281-787-9634 or online at columbusathleticbarn. com/.
Registration fees, donations and sponsorships will go toward Habitat’s $25,000 goal. Habitat for Humanity provides volunteer opportunities, helps build safe, stable homes and provide critical home repairs to community members in need.
