SBA disaster loan deadline set for Aug. 31

Eligible small businesses and private nonprofit organizations in Austin, Colorado and surrounding counties have until Aug. 31 to apply for federal economic injury disaster loans related to drought conditions that began Nov. 4, 2025.

The U.S. Small Business Administration loans are available to eligible small businesses, private nonprofit and faith-based organizations, small agricultural cooperatives and nurseries, and small aquaculture enterprises. The loans provide working capital to help cover operating expenses affected by the drought.

Eligible counties include Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Fort Bend, Waller, Washington, and Wharton counties.
