Columbus, Sealy scrimmage to benefit Jenkins brothers

com COLUMBUS — Columbus Cardinals and Sealy Tigers will unite Thursday, Aug. 20, as proceeds from concession sales during their scrimmage will benefit the three sons of East Bernard Athletic Director and Head Footbal l Coach Jeremy Jenkins and his wife, Brandy.

Jeremy and Brandy Jenkins died in an automobile accident Saturday, Aug. 15, leaving behind their three sons, Tyson, 20, Gage, 18, and Jake, 16. Jeremy was athletic director and head football coach at East Bernard ISD, while Brandy was an educator.

Hot dogs will be sold for $2 during the Columbus- Sealy scrimmage, with all concession sales matched by the Columbus Cardinal Booster Club and donated to the East Bernard Booster Club to support the Jenkins brothers.

A separate Jenkins Brothers Benefit Fund has also been established om Go Fund Me to assist Tyson, Gage and Jake with education, living expenses and future needs. According to the fundraiser, net proceeds will be divided equally among the three brothers.

As of Monday evening, the Go Fund Me campaign raised more than $83,000 toward its $250,000 goal.
