Pierre N. Antoine brings renewed vision and ambitious plans for the future of the historic Weimar school
WEIMAR — Aug. 11, 2026 — A new chapter is beginning at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School in Weimar as Pierre N. Antoine takes the helm for the 2026-2027 school year, bringing renewed energy, a return to educational fundamentals and an ambitious vision for the future of “Sword Nation.”
“So many people have asked me why I chose Weimar, and my response each time has been, ‘Why not Weimar?’” Antoine said. “Look around and see the generations of families who have built not only this parish and school, but this town and county.”
That enthusiasm was on full display during the school’s Backto- School Bash and SMCS Revival, which brought together students, families, faculty, alumni and supporters to celebrate the beginning of the new school year and introduce Antoine’s vision for SMCS.
The evening featured faculty and staff introductions, performances and school spirit led by the SMCS cheerleaders, scripture and faith-based messages, and discussions about service and investing in the future of Catholic education.
Antoine also introduced his 11year plan, an ambitious long-term vision designed to strengthen St. Michael and position the school for generations to come.
The revival also included the unveiling of a new school website and FACTS app, presented by former SMCS student Kari Christen and alumna Beth Holman, to help strengthen communication and connectivity among current families, prospective families, alumni and the wider community.
Antoine believes St. Michael’s future will be built not only by the students and families currently walking its halls, but also through the involvement of alumni, parishioners, local businesses and supporters throughout Weimar, Colorado County and the greater Tri-County area.
As St. Michael begins the 20262027 school year, Antoine’s message to Sword Nation is one of faith, optimism and action.
“Saddle up and get ready for the ride of your life,” he said. “It’s going to be an incredible year.”
