Quilt guild to host ‘Divest, De-stress and De-clutter’ program

LA GRANGE — The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild will welcome Dr. Barb Shrout as guest speaker for its Tuesday, Aug. 25, meeting with a program titled “Divest, De-stress and De-clutter: A Scared Straight Program for Quilters.”

Shrout, a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant and Texas high school administrator, has been accumulating fabric, quilting tools, patterns, books and gadgets since 1990.

During the lighthearted program, Shrout will offer practical advice and tips for quilters ready to tackle their collections of fabric, equipment and other supplies — and perhaps develop a new appreciation for negative space.
