Potter celebrates 81st birthday

COLUMBUS — Longtime Columbus business owner Pamela Potter celebrated her 81st birthday Aug. 17, marking another milestone for a woman whose family and business have been fixtures in the community for decades.

Potter has owned Potter’s Western Store in Columbus since 1974, when she and her husband, Henry Potter, purchased the business from his parents. The couple operated the store together until Henry’s death in July 2024.

More than 50 years after taking ownership, Pamela continues to work at the store daily. The family business now includes the next generation, with the Potters’ children, Charles, Brian and Amanda, involved in various aspects of its operation.
