Ben Peterson recently constructed and installed two bat houses in Veterans Memorial Park in Eagle Lake for his Eagle Scout project. The bat houses, posted on the top of tall wooden poles, will provide a safe habitat for local bats, supporting the local natural ecosystem.
The city commended the project for being “a wonderful example of young people giving back and making a positive, lasting impact in their community” in an Aug. 24 Facebook post.
