Weimar VFW Auxiliary received five first place plaques and one second place award at the VFW Auxiliary District 24 meeting on Aug. 15 in Weimar at the Weimar VFW Hall.
Weimar VFW Auxiliary won first place for: Best Activities Honoring and Recognizing Nurses, Best Overall Reporting of Scholarship Program, Most Outstanding Activity and/or Event Educating their Community, Most Auxiliary Outreach Project Hours, and Most Outstanding Prisoner of War/ Missing in Action.
Past president Barb Koehn said the Weimar VFW Auxiliary “rocked” when presenting the awards previously announced at the state meeting.
Other activities
Two Weimar VFW Auxiliary members volunteered for the Consider Love Food Pantry on July 23.
The next distribution is Aug. 27 at 8:30 a.m. at the Weimar VFW Hall, located at 503 Park Drive.
The group previously met with nine members resent on Aug. 11 and will meet again on Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
