LA GRANGE — A regional Senior Connections tour group gathered in La Grange Aug. 20 for a day of fellowship, Czech heritage and polka history.
Participants traveled from La Grange, Schulenburg, Flatonia, Weimar, Bryan, East Bernard, and Fayetteville for the event. Because the Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum is undergoing renovations, the group’s luncheon was held at the Texas Czech Heritage Community Center in Czech Village at the La Grange Fairgrounds.
The visit gave participants an opportunity to learn about Czech culture and traditions while also exploring the history of polka music and dance represented by the museum.
H-E-B in La Grange donated sandwich platters for the luncheon. The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum thanked the store for helping provide the meal and support the gathering.
The Polka Lovers Club of Texas Museum is located at 275 W. Fairgrounds Road in La Grange.
