The Community Keyholder Awards, presented by Fayette Savings Bank, celebrate individuals, nonprofits, businesses, and community leaders whose generosity, leadership, and commitment are strengthening rural South Central Texas.
This year’s nominations represented an incredible cross-section of community impact. We are proud to recognize the 2026 winners and finalists and thank everyone who submitted nominations, our volunteer judges, and Fayette Savings Bank for serving as this year’s presenting sponsor.
Community Impact Award Recognizes a nonprofit organization making bold, collaborative, and innovative progress that strengthens rural South Central Texas.
Winner: Senior Connections Recognized for its commitment to serving older adults and strengthening the well-being of seniors throughout the communities it serves. Through compassionate programming, meaningful partnerships, and a dedication to improving quality of life, Senior Connections continues to create lasting impact for individuals and families.
Finalists: Neighbors Serving Neighbors, And Then a New Day, Gardenia Animal Shelter, Turtle Wing Foundation, and Fayette County Community Theatre.
Annette Citzler Visionary Leadership Award Honors an individual whose leadership has inspired meaningful and transformat ive change through service, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to community.
Winner: Tammy Collins Tammy Collins is recognized for her visionary leadership and dedication to creating positive change. Her commitment to serving others and strengthening community continues to inspire those around her and reflects the values this award was created to celebrate.
Finalists: Amanda Kridel, Erwin A. Sladek Jr., James Dick, and Joan Herring.
Joe & Carolyn Bailey Philanthropist of the Year Award Named in honor of Joe and Carolyn Bailey’s enduring legacy of generosity, this award recognizes individuals and families whose charitable giving has created lasting impact throughout our region.
Winner: Suzanne & Ed Ellis Suzanne and Ed Ellis are recognized for their commitment to philanthropy and their belief in investing in the future of rural South Central Texas. Their generosity reflects the spirit of community stewardship that continues to inspire meaningful change throughout our region.
Finalists: Frank Reichert, Becky & Kelly Joy, Steve Hillhouse, John & Kim Bartos, and Gary & Linda Andres.
Beeman Family Community Partner Award Recognizes businesses and organizations that actively support nonprofits through partnership, generosity, and community engagement.
Winner: Richard Schmidt Jewelry Richard Schmidt Jewelry is honored for its commitment to supporting local nonprofits and strengthening the communities it serves. Through meaningful partnerships and ongoing community involvement, the business demonstrates the important role local businesses play in creating lasting impact.
Finalists: McCourt Equipment, Texas Women’s League, Royers Cafe, and Head West Floral/ Bloom Bar.

While only one recipient is selected in each category, every finalist has made a meaningful contribution to strengthening rural South Central Texas. Their work reminds us that lasting change happens when people invest their time, talents, and resources in the communities they love.
