Sheriff’s Report
SATURDAY, APRIL 25
At approximately 8:30 a.m., deputy Blair was dispatched to Rice Medical Center in reference to a mental health transport. The mental patient was transported without incident. Case cleared, information only.
SUNDAY, APRIL 26
At approximately 5:12 p.m., deputy Melendez was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office to make contact with a complainant by public service in reference to an assault which occurred in the 1000 block of Buck Road in New Ulm. He contacted the complainant and obtained information to generate a report. The case is active.
MONDAY, APRIL 27
At approximately 3:51 p.m., deputy Frey was advised of a damaged street sign near the low-water crossing on Jerrell Coffee Road, Columbus. Upon further investigation, a heavily damaged street sign was located and a report was generated. Case open pending further investigation.
At approximately 7:59 p.m., deputy Schoppe was dispatched to the intersection of FM 109 and Brunes Mill Road, Columbus, in reference to a loose bull in the roadway. The bull was transported to the Columbus Auction Barn and a report was completed.
TUESDAY, APRIL 28
At approximately 8:11 a.m., deputy Chapa was dispatched to the area of 1065 Hwy 71 E, Columbus, in reference to a criminal trespass. Upon arrival, enough information was gathered to generate this report. Case active.
At approximately 2:00 p.m., deputy Pavlicek attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on State Hwy 71 near Brushy Road. The vehicle attempted to flee law enforcement but was eventually stopped on IH-10 E near Tractor Supply Company. Ivanni Bandera, age 30, of Houston, Tx, was identified as the driver of the vehicle. Ivanni was taken into custody and charged with fleeing police officer - Class B Misdemeanor.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29 At approximately 3:57 p.m., deputy Lopez was dispatched to 1035 Garden Lane, Columbus, in reference to theft.
THURSDAY, APRIL 30
Deputy Mican met with a complainant at the Sheriff’s Office in regards to a possible theft. The complainant stated she bought a mobile home from a company and it wasn’t delivered. She said the company has not refunded her money back. Case pending.
FRIDAY, MAY 1
At approximately 7:13 a.m., deputy Chapa was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle located at the 2200 block of Walnut Street, Columbus, Tx, 78934. Enough information was gathered to generate a report. Case information only.
At approximately 11:16 a.m., deputy Thomas was dispatched to 1630 FM 155 S, Weimar, in reference to theft. A warrant was issued and executed. After investigation, Dayvon Granger, 17, of Weimar, was arrested for Warrant (theft of firearm). Case pending recovery of firearm.
SATURDAY, MAY 2
At approximately 1:00 a.m., deputy Smith conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Baxter Street in Garwood. After further investigation, the driver, Jerick Wright, 26, of Eagle Lake, was arrested for possession of marijuana. The case was cleared by adult arrest.
At approximately 7:40 a.m., deputy Thomas was informed by dispatch that a wanted person was in the CCSO lobby wishing to turn themselves in. The subject was taken into custody and released to jail staff without incident. Case closed by adult arrest.
At approximately 9:49 a.m., deputy Avalos arrived in the 300 block of Mills Street, Eagle Lake, in reference to a wanted person. The wanted subject was taken into custody and transported to the CCSO jail. The wanted subject was released to jail staff without incident. Case cleared by arrest.
At approximately 10:23 a.m., deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 2200 block of Walnut Street, Columbus, in reference to a criminal trespass. Upon arrival, enough information was gathered to generate this report. Case active.
At approximately 12:19 p.m., deputy Chapa was dispatched to the 3300 block of US Hwy 90, Weimar, in reference to an animal call. Upon arrival, enough information was gathered to generate this report. Case active.
At approximately 1:57 p.m., deputy Chapa was dispatched to the area of Business 71 and Sunset Plaza Drive, Columbus, in reference to a reckless driver. After further investigation, Erick Nathan Keller, 44, of Columbus, was arrested for public intoxication. Case cleared by adult arrest.
At approximately 8:43 p.m., deputy Schoppe was dispatched to the 1900 block of Oak Ridge Road, Weimar, in reference to a terroristic threat. Upon investigation, it was determined no offense occurred. A report was completed.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., deputy Smith was dispatched to the 100 block of Shult Drive, Columbus, in reference to a dog bite that occurred in the 1300 block of Reese Lane. On arrival, he met with the victim and obtained information to generate a report. The case is cleared.
SUNDAY, MAY 3
At approximately 4:18 a.m., deputy Thomas was dispatched to the 1000 block of Jerrell Coffee Road in reference to trespassing. Upon arrival, the suspect was located and in possession of narcotics and narcotic equipment. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Colorado County Jail without incident. Case cleared by arrest.
At approximately 9:00 p.m., deputy Smith was dispatched to Rice Medical Center to meet with the complainant regarding a dog bite that occurred in the 1100 block of Lakeside Drive. On arrival, he met with the complainant and obtained information to generate a report. The case is closed.
MONDAY, MAY 4
At approximately 12:50 a.m., deputy Schoppe was dispatched to the feeder road near the 702 mile marker of IH-10, Bernardo, in reference to a disturbance. After further investigation, neither party wished to pursue charges. Ultimately, Eduardo Garcia, 32, of Houston, was arrested for Public Intoxication - Misdemeanor C. Case cleared by adult arrest.
