The 48th Annual Colorado County Fair pageant was held Saturday, Sept. 5, at the Colorado County Fairgrounds.

Contestants in the Little Miss, Little Mister, Junior Miss, Junior Queen and Queen competitions took the stage, vying for the opportunity to represent Colorado County during the coming year.

Younger contestants answered questions ranging from their favorite television shows to the heroes in their lives.

Older contestants shared their academic, athletic, civic and county fair accomplishments, along with their post-high school aspirations. They also had an opportunity to recognize people who have inspired them.

Pamela Potter, who was instrumental in starting the Colorado County Fair and its pageants nearly 50 years ago, reflected on how the event has grown.

“We’ve come a long way in 48 years,” Potter said. “This is our 48th fair, and I hope the good Lord leaves me here to see the 50th fair because we are really going to do it up right.”

Little Miss  Contestants were Jazara Buscoi, Elizabeth Leya, Tatem Moffett, Erin Moore, Mary Gwen Peikert, Haven Rebel, Otylia Segundo, Charlotte Smith, Evelyn Sosa and Arcelia Soto.
