The Columbus Education Foundation’s Classroom Grant program gives CISD teachers more ways to bring creative ideas into the classroom, with donor-funded grants that support hands-on projects, innovative resources, and engaging learning experiences for students throughout the district. During the 2025-26 school year, 11 classroom projects were funded, totaling $14,848 and impacting more than 694 students across CISD.
Funded through the generosity of CEF donors and supporters of the Columbus Duck Derby, the grants give teachers additional resources for projects that may go beyond regular campus or department budgets. By placing these resources in teachers’ hands, the program helps expand learning opportunities for CISD students while supporting the creativity already happening in classrooms.
Last year, the committee introduced team grants, allowing teachers to apply individually, with a partner, or as a team of three. Grant awards range from $1,000 to $3,500, depending on the type of grant. The scope of each grant is limited only by a teacher’s imagination.
