A year after his tragic death, family members and friends of Rice Consolidated softball coach Noel Lopez gathered at his crash site on State Highway 71 to honor the day of September 20, the day that Lopez died. His sister Teri Orosco said a few touching words about her brother, and then Lopez’s granddaughter Karsyn Lopez released balloons into the air to symbolize Lopez entering heaven.
