The Rice Lady Raiders fell to a 1-5 district record after losing back-to-back district games recently.
Both games were on the road, and they faced the Brazos Cougarettes and the Columbus Lady Cardinals.
BRAZOS, L, 30 57, 255, 2514
In their first match, the Lady Raiders traveled to Brazos High School to face the Brazos Cougarettes. Unfortunately for the Lady Raiders the first set saw them score only seven points.
While the Lady Raiders scored seven points, the Cougarettes closed the set out with a final score of 25-7 to take the early lead. In the second set, the Cougarettes continued to apply pressure with their offense as they won the second set 25-5.
In the third set, the Lady Raiders offense came to life as they scored 14 points in the final set of the match. The Cougarettes closed out the set with a final score of 25-14 and gave the Lady Raiders their fourth district loss of the season.
After the loss the Lady Raiders set their sights on their next opponent who were just down the road in Columbus.

In their second match the Lady Raiders faced the Columbus Lady Cardinals and were defeated in three straight sets. The Lady Raiders came out strong to start the match and scored 14 points in a 25-14 loss in the first set.
In the second set, the Lady Cards held the Lady Raiders to only four points and picked up a 25-4 win in the second set. Then finally in the third set, the Lady Cards closed out the match with a 25-3 win over the Lady Raiders in the third set.
The Lady Raiders will be back in action on their home court on Tuesday, Oct. 6, when they will host Schulenburg at 6:30 p.m.
