Overcoming Temptation

I joined TCA in 2026 seeking a fresh start and to leave behind the struggles with drugs that had taken a toll on my life. Drugs turned my world into a nightmare; I lost my family to drugs. They would not talk to me. My parents did everything they could to help me, but I couldn’t see it until CPS stepped in to try to remove my mom and loved ones. That’s when I realized I needed to change.

I began my journey to sobriety, even though I was surrounded by bad influences. I am proud to say I’ve been sober for two months now. I am grateful to TCA and my family for their unwavering support. TCA is a wonderful program if you truly want to become sober or even finish school.

School was a major chal lenge for me, especially because of the false friends who would offer me drugs like weed and pills. I saw how much I was hurting myself and how much my mom worried when she saw me under the influence. I kept promising her I’d quit, but I struggled to let go of the drugs that controlled me and hurt those I loved. I realized I was addicted when I couldn’t stop doing things that were harming me and hurting my family.

TCA is a special place for anyone who genuinely wants to change their life for the better. It’s a place that can help bui ld discipl ine, find employment, and offer a sense of community. At TCA, you get three meals a day, participate in sports, and engage in community service. The staff is caring and supportive, but they also know how to enforce discipline when needed. TCA teaches essential life ski l ls for the real world, showing you how to be a leader, avoid temptations, and most importantly, how to value yourself and not be swayed by others.

This program is about hope, healing, and taking the first steps toward a better future. Overcoming temptation is a CHALLENGE, BUT I’M GOING TO WIN!
