The Weimar Ladycats remain undefeated in district play after defeating Shiner on Friday, Oct. 2, at Weimar High School.

The Ladycats defeated Shiner in three straight sets to improve to a 6-0 district record and tighten their grip on the top spot in the district standings.

The match opened with the Ladycats pulling out a 25-22 win over Shiner, and it set the tone for the rest of the match. While the Ladycats would go on to win the next two sets in this match, Shiner made it tough.

The Ladycats carried their momentum into the second set, but it was just as competitive as the first. Shiner went on to score 21 points in the second set and really tested the Ladycats.

The Ladycats were well prepared for that test though, and they were able to close out the second set with a score of 25-21. Being one set away from victory the Ladycats knew that they had to play the third set with a full team effort.

Knowing that the Ladycats got on the court and held Shiner to their lowest point total in the match. They held Shiner to 19 points in the third set and gave their offense the confidence needed to close the match out.

The Ladycats won the third set with a final score of 25-19 and picked up their sixth win in district play. The win kept the Ladycats in first place in the district standings for the 2026 season.

It also gave them a onegame lead over Flatonia who is in second place in the district standings.

The next time the Ladycats take the court will be on Friday, Oct. 9, where they will travel on the road to face Danbury looking to keep their district winning streak alive.
