The Columbus Lady Cardinals picked up their seventh district win of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The Lady Cards defeated the Brazos Cougarettes in four sets to remain undefeated in district play.
The game started out with the Lady Cards picking up a win in the first set. The Lady Cards won the first set with a final score of 25-20 to take an early lead in the match.

They came back in the second set the Lady Cards held the Cougarettes to 17 points. They went on to win the second set with a score of 25-17 to take a 2-0 set lead in the match.
In the third set, the Cougarettes came out strong and picked up their first set win of the match. The Lady Cards scored 21 points in the loss, and the set ended with a score of 25-21 in favor of the Cougarettes.
In the fourth set of the match, the Lady Cards and Cougarettes went back and forth on the score board. Both teams scored over 20 points, but the Lady Cards secured the win with a score of 25-21.
The Lady Cards were led by Harper Gerik, who had 43 total attacks on the net and 22 kills in Tuesday’s win. Close behind Gerik was Bella Love who had a total of 26 attacks on the net and recorded 11 kills.
Then finally was Logan Glueck who had 20 total attacks on the net and recorded nine kills in Tuesday’s victory. In the assists category, the Lady Cards were led by Lucy Schobel, who recorded an impressive 47 assists to help lift the Lady Cards to a win over the Cougarettes.
Mary Fitzgerald led the Lady Cards with 14 digs followed by Schobel, who recorded 12 digs Tuesday night.
The Lady Cards will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 9, where they will travel to East Bernard for their next district game at 4:30 p.m.
