The Weimar Wildcats picked up their third loss of the season after being shut out by Shiner on Friday, Oct. 2.

The final score of the game was 62-0 and was the Wildcats second district game of the year to give them a 0-2 record to start district play.

Shiner jumped out to an early lead and held onto it for the entire game as they went on to blowout and shut out the Wildcats. By halftime, Shiner held a lead of 34-0 and in the second half they continued to pour on points.

In the second half of the game Shiner scored 28 points to arrive at the final score of 62-0. Being shut out on their home field is a tough pill to swallow the Wildcats, but they can still learn a lot from this loss.

There were plenty of positives to take away from the game. Despite the score, the Wildcats did make some plays on defense and even recorded a couple of sacks on Friday night.

They also get a lot of good game films to watch this week as they prepare for their next district game. Shiner was not only a playoff team last year, but they were playing for the state championship just a season ago.

It is a good test for the Wildcats to have a team like that in their district as a good test during the season. It is also a big benefit to have some game film against a team like Shiner so they can clean up their mistakes and come back ready to jump back in the win column next week.

The Wildcats will be back on the field on Friday, Oct. 9, when they hit the road to face Danbury for their third district game of the year.
