DEAR EDITOR,
Texans are proud to power the nation, but hardworking Texan families shouldn’t be the ones paying the price for corporate growth in our state.
As electricity bills continue to burden household budgets, many fathers and mothers are asking a simple question: why are families paying more while billion-dollar corporations receive tax incentives?
Gina Hinojosa has proposed freezing residential electricity rates until Texas ensures that data centers and other highload users pay for the infrastructure they require instead of shifting those costs onto everyday Texans. She also supports improving our electric grid while protecting property owners and ensuring communities have a voice before major transmission projects move forward.
Colorado County understands the importance of energy, but we also understand the fairness our families deserve. Texas can continue to grow while making sure working families—not corporations— come first. Gina Hinojosa will put our families first. Sincerely,
Michelle Marable, Columbus
