Going, going, going are these first nine weeks at St. Anthony’s Catholic School. The school entered Fire Prevention Month with some lights and sirens. Columbus Volunteer Fire Department brought their apparatus to campus so even the youngest Saints would be able to learn about fire prevention and fire safety. Some students, through first grade, walked over to the fire station and enjoyed some great fire prevention education by gracious volunteers. Kindergarten 3 up to fifth graders also participated in a fire prevention poster contest.

Sirens continued to blast at the Weimar High School football field as St. Anthony’s faced St. Michael Catholic School. The Saints ran onto the field ready to take on the Swords. Colson Glueck started off with a touchdown in the first quarter to make a mark on the scoreboard. The excitement continued throughout the game as Will Glueck secured a tackle and later in the game Cormac Barten safeguarded an interception in the fourth quarter. With the help of the St. Michael’s announcer, the stands were loud and on the edge of their seats as the scoreboard read 20-20. With only 1:29 left in the fourth quarter, Landry Venghaus blocked a pass. The Saints were able to maintain until they reached a final score of 20-20.

St. Anthony’s Catholic Church picnic had fabulous weather and a pleasant turnout. The event had a wonderful mix of student volunteers, parishioners and community members there to support the Parish. The school thanks everyone so much for joining them.
