SAS NEWS

Just as quickly as summer went, St. Anthony Catholic School’s cross country and volleyball seasons are over. Coach Sarah Moore encouraged SAS students through a great running season. SAS runners ended strong with Carley Aaron placing 15th in Hallettsville. And, during their final meet at Faith Academy, Samuel Gonzales took home 15th place and Carley Aaron took home 13th place. The team had a great season and ended with some personal bests, including Athletic Awards for MVP to Carley Aaron, Most Improved to Samuel Gonzales and Fighting Heart to Laney Glueck.

SAS volleyball participated in a few tournaments this season as well as a serving contest for third through fifth graders. Volleyball coaches gave athletic awards to the B Team of MVP to Anslee Busselman, Most Improved to Ashlyn Bennett and Fighting Heart to Catheryn Besch. For our A Team girls, SAS coaches gave MVP to Taitlyn Beauchamp, Most Improved to Maddie Wright and Fighting Heart to Kendal Winkenwerder.

Although the co-ed flag football season already ended, SAS notes the athletic awards of MVP to Beau Neal, Most Improved to Louise Glueck and Fighting Heart to Patrick Smith.

Upcoming Events: SAS Veterans Day Mass will be held on Friday, Nov. 6, at 8:15 am. SAS would be grateful to have community members join as they honor those that served.

“‘Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.’ This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it. This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.” 1 Timothy 4: 8-10.
