The Rice Raiders football team may have to forfeit some of their games for this season because of ineligibility accusations.
The University Interscholastic League is reviewing several of the Raiders' district games for eligibility criteria.
The Raiders are currently appealing the decision from the UIL and are awaiting to see if the ruling is upheld or if their appeal succeeds. If the Raiders' appeal succeeds, they will hold onto second place in the district's standings. If the UIL's initial decision is upheld, it would knock the Raiders out of the playoffs.
The Raiders still have one more district game scheduled this season on Friday, Nov. 6, against Van Vleck at Van Vleck High School. Raiders head coach and Rice Consolidated High School representatives were unavailable for comment on this matter.
