Bernardo Hermann Sons Life met Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Bernardo Volunteer Fire Department meeting room with opening of the meeting with the pledge of alliance.
President Maertz ask for the roll call of officers. Financial report was given by Robin Maertz. Emily Frank motion to accept the report and Beatrice Hill seconded the motion. Motion passed.
New member to approve – Quinn McKenzie Maertz daughter of Colby and Lacy Maertz of West, Texas. Billy Hagen motioned to accept this new member and Joe Trojacek seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Agent report – camp is about to start up and registration letters will be going out soon to children of the ages 8-14. Minicamp available this year for the younger age group.
Committee report – Billy Hagen mentioned that the financial books were checked and found to be in order. Committee consists of Billy Hagen, Emily Frank and Arlene Trojacek.
Reading of correspondence – President Maertz read a letter from the Columbus Food Panty explaining all they do for the families in Colorado County. Monetary donations are needed to help to continue to feed the families in our count.
We also received a letter from the Grand Lodge asking to set a goal of 8 new members to our lodge in Bernardo.
President Maertz then read a letter from the Bernardo Volunteer Fire department notifying us of the new rental cost. The monthly meetings will now be held at the home of Terrel and Robin Maertz.
We will double check to insure that we can host the Summer BBQ and Christmas Party at the fire station.
Next month meal will be donated by Joe and Arlene Trojacek. Hot dogs and chili will be provided. Bring side snacks and etc. to go with hot dogs.
