EPA has inspected Inland
ALTAIR—Officials with The United States Environmental Protection Agency made a site visit to Inland Environmental & Remediation last month under authority granted the agency under the federal Oil Pollution Act.
The agency confirmed its April 17 site visit in Altair through an agency spokesperson Friday.
“EPA will continue to provide assistance to the state and evaluate the site under the Spill Prevention and Control Countermeasures Program, which is not delegated to the state,” said Jennah Durant, a press office spokesperson for EPA Region 6, headquartered in Dallas.
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the state’s environmental regulatory arm, is leading the case, but assumes some of its authority to do so as a result of EPA’s delegation of permit authority to the state under the federal Clean Water and Clean Air Acts.
