St. Paul United Methodist to hold 158th church anniversary

The St. Paul United Methodist Church at 916 Fannin St. is preparing to celebrate its 158th anniversary since becoming the first African American church in Colorado County. The celebration is scheduled for Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. following normal Sunday Service. Reverend Dr. Diane Carter of Diane Carter Ministries in Oklahoma will return to her birthplace of Columbus to deliver the message during the service.

The service is open to the public and attendance is encouraged by the church to celebrate a special occasion for their history in Columbus and Colorado County.
