COLUMBUS — Braving cool temperatures and a driving wind, members of the board of the Boys & Girls Club of Champion Valley, young club members, and staff, along with representatives from Woodmen Life Insurance, were on hand Friday morning at Southern Oaks Event Center to dedicate a new flagpole for the club.

Deborah Herring, local agent with Woodmen Life, was on hand for the ceremonies along with Ryan Beane, another local agent.

She told members those gathered for the event it was the group’s hope the flag pole and donated flag would serve the club well.

Herring said Woodmen of the World has donated more than three million flags to deserving non-profit organizations since 1974.
