Blood drive Set Feb. 22

On Friday, February 22, First United Methodist Family Church will host a blood drive in it’s Family Life Center, located at 419 Washington Street in Columbus.

The requirements to give blood are as follows: you must be in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be 16 years of age. Good health means “you feel well and are able to normal daily activities,” according to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

If you are 16, parental consent is required. For those age 17 and older, parental consent is not required. Those 76 years of age or older must have a doctor’s written approval. Personal identification is also required to give blood. The blood drive will begin at noon and continue until 6 p.m.
