COLUMBUS--The Columbus Garden Club has set its Thirteenth Annual Spring Clean-Up Event, including the Columbus Trash-Off, for early April, with the trash-off itself set for Saturday, April 6.

The program removes approximately 50,000 pounds of trash from the Columbus community annually, and volunteers rack up over 200 hours of service each year participating in the event.

The trash-off event kicks of at 8 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church near the intersection of Cardinal Lane and US 90.

The spring clean up also includes freel limb chipping service for Columbus residents from April 8 through Friday, April 12. Additionally, the city maintenance yard will have roll-off dumpsters available during business hours for disposal of large items.

Local organizations are invited to participate and volunteer. Groups including Rotary, Lions, and Boy Scouts have assisted the Columbus Garden Club with the program in past years.
