July 09, 2024 - 21:22

Columbus/Eagle Lake scheduled to be restored by the end of day Wednesday, July 9.

Early Tuesday, July 9, AEP released their Estimated Times of Restoration for the their areas of service that have been affected by Hurricane Beryl. Several thousand residents have already been restored as AEP reported that Crews have restored 63% of their customers.

Crews will work late into the night Tuesday to restore power to as many customers as possible and will continue to refine ETR’s as the restoration effort progresses.

The Columbus/Eagle Lake area is scheduled to be restored by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10.

AEP Texas reminds customers to follow these important safety guidelines:

• All downed power lines should be considered energized and dangerous. Do not touch anything in contact with the line, such as trees, fences, or puddles of water. Keep children and pets inside during and after the storm. Stay at least ten feet away from any downed power line.

• If you plan to use a portable generator, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Customers can sign up for outage alerts at AEPTexas.com. Those dealing with power issues can contact 713-207-2222 to report their residence as an effected area.
