The Colorado County Fair Association announced July 16 that the fair will be a scaled down event this year in light of coronavirus concerns.
The board of directors have chosen to host the fair as a queen parent, parade and youth exhibitor event only.
“We want to ensure that the youth exhibitors of Colorado County have every opportunity to both exhibit and sell their projects,” Fair Association President Racheal Schneider said.
“This was a very difficult decision to make, but after conversing with county and city officials and going over state guidelines, it is the best decision moving forward,” a press release from the association said.
The showing will be Thursday, Sept. 10 and Friday, Sept 11.
The Colorado County Fair parade and sale will be Saturday Sept. 12. The Citizen was unable to verify the pageant date prior to the press deadline.
