    ANGELINA “ANGEL” KELLEY SONNIER

Angelina “Angel” Kelley Sonnier passed away peacefully on Feb. 1, 2024, at the age of 49. She was lovingly surrounded by her children and husband at their home in Cat Spring, Texas. She fought a courageous battle with several prolonged illnesses, but never gave up hope.

Angel was born June 12, 1974, in Eagle Lake, Texas, to Debra McKinley and Marvin Lee Kelley. Over the course of her life, she had four children and was married to her best friend and the love of her life, Danny Sonnier, for 17 years. Last year, she dedicated her life by baptism and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Becoming baptized was one of her final wishes. It was truly one of the best and happiest days of her life. She loved Jehovah and had faith in his word. His promise of death and pain being no more comforted her in a way that nothing else could. Revelation 21:4 states, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Angel’s friends and family would best describe her as being full of life, happiness, and positivity no matter what challenges she faced. She truly had a strength that was not of this world. Throughout her life, she has said many times that her husband, children, and grandchildren were what kept her going. She loved them more than anything in the world. She enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them, as well as with her beloved dogs. Angel was an amazing mother, “Nina,” wife, daughter, sister and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Sonnier; her children, Miranda, Kirsten, Courtney, and Justin Lopez; her mother and father, Debra McKinley and Marvin Lee Kelley; her grandmother, Evelyn Schindler; her mother and father-in-law, Glorie and Carl Sonnier, and her beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Aaron, Brayden, Ashton, Nathan, Rylen and Alayna. Today, Angel lives on through her loved ones and with the promise that we will see her again in a beautiful paradise.

A service will be held in Angel’s honor at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 162 Selman Dr., Sealy, TX 77474.
