Anita Evanicky, 88, of Columbus, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2022 in Rosenberg, Texas.

She was born on December 28, 1933, to Raymond Zaskoda, Sr. and Alwine (Reinhardt) Zaskoda in Columbus, Texas. On April 7, 1959, she married Elo “Slick” Evanicky.

Anita was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Anita enjoyed caring for her flowers, gardening, ranching, dancing, going to church picnics, playing bingo, dominoes, and casino trips with her family and friends.

Anita is survived by her daughters Frances Borgstedt and husband Lawrence, Fay Ulbricht and husband Marv, and Marilyn Evanicky and husband Tim Neff; sons Johnny Evanicky and wife Shirley, Joe Evanicky, Michael Evanicky and wife Carrie, and Ernest Evanicky; daughterin- law Carolyn Evanicky; grandchi ldren Kristi Jones, Travis Duve and wife Ashley, Daniel le Duncan and husband Andrew, Tyler Evanicky, Jonathan Evanicky, Julie Evanicky, Timothy Ulbricht, Thomas Ulbricht, Michael L. Evanicky, Colton Evanicky, Jacob Evanicky, and Zane Neff; great-grandchild Aiden Jones; step great-grandchildren Lilly Downard, Kayleigh Tucker and Bridgette Tucker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elo “Slick” Evanicky, parents Raymond Zaskoda, Sr. and Alwine Zaskoda; uncles Henry Reinhardt and wife Clara, and Arthur Zaskoda and wife I rene; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Sheriff George “Doc” Mueller and Shorty Mueller; brothers-in-law Robert Evanicky, Willie Evanicky, Albert Evanicky, and Charlie Evanicky; sister- i n- law Albina Evanicky; and nephews Bobby Evanicky, David Evanicky, and Rick Evanicky.

Visitation was held on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas, with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Funeral service was Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus, Texas. Msgr. Dan Kahlich and Deacon John Glueck officiated. Visitation at church was from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial took place in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Columbus, Texas. Pallbearers were the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
