Raymond “Ray” Carl Beck Jr, 79, of Columbus, Texas, passed away on June 30, 2021, in Columbus, Texas. He entered the world on his father’s birthday on July 8, 1941. He was born to Raymond and Esther (Heitert) in St. Louis, Missouri. He married Shirley (Bates) on August 19, 1967.

He proudly served in the Air Force. He moved his family to Texas in the summer of 1981. He had a passion for photography, model cars, spending time with his family, and being a part of the Columbus Boy Scout troop while his son was in Boy Scouts.

He was preceded in death by wife Shirley Beck, granddaughter Brandi Kubos, parents Raymond & Esther Beck, sister Judy Reinert.

He is survived by his children: Teresa and husband Earl “Butch” Adamson of Cat Spring, Tammy, and husband Steve Willett of Corpus Christi, Vickie and husband Travis Maertz of Mentz, Travis, and wife Jennifer Beck of Sheridan. Sister-in-law Jeannie Atkinson of Salem, Mo., brothers-in-law Ronnie Prater of Salem, Mo., and Bob Medlock of Sikeston, Mo.; Grandchildren: Tiffany Adamson, Jessica and husband Tim Ricicar, Butch and wife Hilary Adamson, John Maertz, Shawn Bates, and Brandi Lenininger, Tori and husband Tyrel Bohrer, Melissa and husband Jody Rowe, Ashely Willett, Jeanna Willett and fiancé Devin Wenkebach; Great Grandchildren: Brianne, Haegan & Kyndall Montemayor, Samuel, Ezra & Joanna Ricicar, Peyton & Wyatt Adamson, Orrin Bohrer, Gavin & Grayeson Rowe, Natalya Wenkebach; and numerous nieces and nephews.

On Monday, July 5, 2021, funeral services were held at Henneke Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Alan Kethan officiating. A visitation was from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial followed at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers: Butch Adamson, John Maertz, Shawn Bates, Tim Ricicar, Tyrel Bohrer, Jody Rowe, Hunter Kazmir, George Vincent.

Serving as honorary pallbearers: Granddaughters, Great Grandchildren, Richard LaCourse, Chris LaCourse, and Wally Kulmack.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bart Klaus, the staff at Columbus Community Hospital and TLC, David Cardenas, and Amanda Bruner for being so kind and loving to our dad.
