Arthur Leo Becker, Jr., 87 of New Ulm, was born in Columbus June 18, 1932 to Arthur and Nola Becker. He was one of six children born into this family. Arthur attended Columbus High School, served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Virginia where he met his wife of 65 years. They made their home in Richmond, where they reared their three children, until retirement, at which time they moved to New Ulm.

Arthur loved gardening with his neighbors, raising cattle and tinkering around the house. He was always figuring out how to get some lawnmower or tractor running again.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Constance (Connie) Marini Becker; daughter Cynthia Jean Chitwood, and her husband, Chuck of Celina, TN; son Arthur Marty Becker, and his wife Susan of Katy; son William Brady Becker, and his wife Tammy of Rosenberg; sister Becky Wilburn of Glidden, and six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, March 3 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2309 FM 1291, New Ulm, Texas 78950 (located in Frelsburg).

Visitation will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, March 3 from 9 - 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church (Becker) Cemetery in Frelsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation in his name.
