Betty Louise (Blank) Schuchardt, 76, of La Grange, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at TruCare Living Centers in Columbus, Texas.

Betty was born in Houston, Texas on Jan.

1, 1947, the daughter of William Mason Blank and Billie (Bookman) Cummins.

Betty served in the La Grange community for many years. She served as the service coordinator for Primary Health Care Programs and later worked at the Fayette County courthouse.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a special place in her heart for Pokey, her little pup and companion. She was always able to make a joke and allow those around her to recall events of the past that inevitably resulted in laughter and smiles.

She is survived by son, Dan Keen and wife, Laura Keen of Spicewood; son, Rusty Keen and wife, Natalie Keen of Ledbetter; daughter, Terri Ideker and husband, Brion Ideker of Conroe. Betty’s grandchildren include: Averi Keen, Tanner Keen, Alley Keen, Jacob Keen, Grace Keen, Logan Ideker, Colby Ideker and Lauren Jones. Betty’s great grandchildren include Emma Rose and Lily Rose.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Mason Blank; her mother, Billie Bookman Cummins; her stepfather, George Cummins; and sister, Marie Bryant.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl, La Grange, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter, 240 Svoboda Lane, La Grange, Texas 78945.
