Lloyd A. Cryer, 83, of Columbus, passed away Friday, Oct. 1 in Houston.

He was born Apr. 25, 1938 to Elmer Cryer and Mary Inez (Sullivan) Cryer in Zavalla. On May 4, 1956 He married Ada Jean Putch.

Lloyd was the owner of Cryer Plastering Co., Inc. where he worked for many years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbus for 38 years where he also served as a deacon. In the last two years he was a member of Columbus Family Worship Center.

Lloyd enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. He also loved the Lord and spent a lot of time reading his Bible.

Lloyd is remembered by his wife of 65 years, Ada Cryer; brother George Cryer; son Lloyd E. Cryer; daughter Mary Frank; sonin-law Daniel Frank; grandchildren Jacob Frank and wife Taylor Farmilette, Joseph Frank, James Frank and Joshua Frank.

He was preceded in death by his father Elmer Cryer; mother Mary Inez (Sullivan) Cryer; brothers Richard Cryer and John Cryer; son Mark Cryer.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, and on Saturday, Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Pastor Harris will be officiating.

Burial will take place in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus.

Pallbearers are Jacob Frank, Joseph Frank, James Frank and Joshua Frank.

Memorials may be given to Columbus Family Worship Center, 3231 Columbus Loop, Columbus, TX 78934.
