Dale Heinsohn, 76, of Frelsburg, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on Jan. 16, 2023, in Frelsburg, Texas.

She was born on Oct. 7, 1946, to Leslie Wensel and May Dell (Loehr) Wensel in Bellville, Texas and grew up and went to school in Sealy, Texas. She will always be a Sealy Tiger at heart.

After dating for several years after meeting at a New Year’s dance in Cat Spring, Dale married her best friend and love of her life Leslie Heinsohn on June 11, 1967. She made her own wedding dress for that day and had the most stunning pastel rainbow wedding. Dale was known for her style and loved clothing and jewelry; making her own many times over the years.

Dale was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg and a member of the Ladies Aid Society for many years.

Dale was a force of nature. Her kindness and love for people was evident in her long friendships. She opened her home and heart to so many over the years. She was a friend, confidant, and a second mother to so many.

One of the passions in her life was the charitable work she did with the Houston Livestock Show. She participated in the Go-Texan Committee and later was one of the earlier members of the School Art Committee. She was a member there for over 30 years.

That work naturally blended with work to get the Colorado County Fair started. She put in many years organizing and participating in events. One of her favorites was the Fair Queen contest.

She worked hard in organizing the Colorado County Republicans and was the president for several years.

She was an active member of the Columbus Garden Club and served as President for many years. The members particularly liked the field trips that she organized.

Her children and grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She always made sure they always had everything they needed. She delighted in her grandchildren’s endeavors, cheering them on at events, competitions, and sports.

Dale is survived by her husband of fifty-five years, Leslie Heinsohn; daughters Brandy Divin and husband Shannon and Heidi May and husband Lee; grandchildren Cameron Divin, Hadley Divin, Savannah May, and Vivienne May.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and May Dell Wensel; father-in-law Edgar Heinsohn; mother-in-law Alice Heinsohn; brother-in-law Calvin Heinsohn; Uncle Winston Loehr.
