Francis John Truchard of Bernardo was born on Nov. 4, 1941 to Joe and Lily (Schneider) Truchard in Sealy, Texas. He was called to be with the Lord on March 8, 2023 at the age of 81.

He was Justice of the Peace for Colorado County Precinct 3. Francis was appointed to the position in April of 1963 and has been elected by the people ever since. He was the longest current serving Justice of the Peace in the State of Texas, serving for almost sixty years.

Francis is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Barbara Gaertner Truchard, daughter Jackie Kovar and husband Mike, sons Jacob Truchard and wife Alicia, Tommy Truchard and Brian Blumhorst, Bobby Truchard and wife Leah, Philip Truchard, and daughter Jessica Bergfeld and husband George Bergfeld II; grandchildren Kayelynn Truchard, John Michael Truchard, Adelaide Truchard, William Truchard, Andrew Truchard, George Bergfeld III and Nicole Bergfeld; brothers Tony Truchard and wife Joann, Joe Truchard and Sally, James Truchard and wife Marci, Denis Truchard and wife Nancy; sisters Anne Linville and husband Jim and Sister Mildred Truchard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
