FUDGE

Joyce Deloris “Oma” Fudge, age 79, peacefully passed away Oct. 29 at her home in Columbus. She was born Oct. 13, 1940 in Houston to Edwin Edgar and Anna Mae (Stancik) Frerichs. She married Bobby Ray Fudge June 13, 1957.

Joyce moved to Ventura, CA in 1957 to be with her husband Bobby, who was on the USS St. Paul. They returned to Columbus in 1978. After raising her children, Joyce worked as a bookkeeper for Curtis Automotive for many years before retiring. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Her hobbies included genealogy, needlework and antiquing. She truly loved her family and living in Texas.

Joyce was preceded in death by: her parents, Edwin and Anna Mae Frerichs; husband, Bobby Ray Fudge; grandson, Steffon Schoenfeld; brothers Edwin Edgar Frerichs,Jr. and James William Frerichs; sisters-in-law Frances Black, Linda Fudge, Lovell Willis and Marry Frerichs; and brothers-in-law Roy Fudge and Ben Black.

Joyce is survived by: children, Judith “Judy” Schoenfeld and husband Dan of Phoenix, AZ, Bobby Ray “Little Bob” Fudge, Jr of Port Angeles, WA, and Suzanne “Suzy” Boettcher and husband Edward of Columbus; grandchildren, Geoff Schoenfeld, Caitlin Schoenfeld, Lorrin Dalrymple and husband Jon, Jake Boettcher and wife Melanie, and Anna Shumate and husband Thomas; great-grandchildren, Mason Schoenfeld, Jack Schoenfeld, Jonny Dalrymple and Deacon Dalrymple; brother Jerrold Frerichs of Livingston; brother-in-law Kenneth Willis; sister-in-law Joyce Frerichs Jarrell and husband Jimmy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Thursday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home with Deacon Bennie Holesovsky and Sandra Frnka officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 5 – 7 p.m., also at Henneke Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Jake Boettcher, Geoff Schoenfeld, Thomas Shumate, Jon Dalrymple, Tommy Wright and Jimmy Frerichs.
