HOWARD

George Howard, Jr. was born Apr. 27, 1950 to George Howard, Sr. and Bethel Howard. He attended G.W. Carver Elementary School and E.H. Henry High School. After school, he attended the Job Corps in San Marcos.

George confessed a hope in Christ at an early age, was baptized and later in life he became a minister.

He was a faithful member of Rising Star Baptist Church.

In 1970 George married Jeanette Banks. The couple had three children.

His siblings were Myrtle Scott, Otis McGrew and Helen Hearn.

George passed away Feb. 5.

George’s children are: George Howard, III, Patrick Howard, Tilford Howard and Cortney Gray. He leaves behind nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a special friend, Rosetta Hemphill.

Funeral services were Feb. 19 at Williams Paradise Cemetery in Nada.

Pastor Truman Scott officiated the service.

Final arrangements were under the direction of Ben Davis Funeral Home of Columbus.
