Annabelle Eva Marie Hughes, 11, of Columbus, passed away Dec. 23, 2021 in Houston. She was born Nov. 15, 2010, in Bridgeport.

Annabelle enjoyed gardening with her mom, collecting butterflies and snails, and being with church and family. Her hobbies included being a slime expert, arts and crafts, and Awanas. Her favorite thing was nature and animals. She was always funny and joyful. She will be most remembered for her beautiful smile and creativity.

Annabelle is survived by her parents, Johnny and Gina Neely; brothers, Charles Hughes, Daniel Hughes, Cameron Neely, Mackenzie Neely and JT Neely; grandmothers, Terry Stovall of Columbus, and Marihelen Neely of Breckenridge; aunts, Donna Stamper of Bowie, TX and Amanda Anthony of Breckenridge; cousins, Donnell Keahey of Lorena, Jonathan, Daisy, Daphney, and Mavric, all from Bowie. She was aunt to Charly, Katy, Aaron, Kaitlynn, and Aiden. Many more family members and special friends from church and school will lovingly remember Annabelle. She will also be missed by her pets, Molly, Cookie and Miss Pearl.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Hughes and great-grandmother, Shirley Stovall.

Funeral service was Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 at Glidden Baptist Church in Glidden, with Pastor Joel Usher officiating. Burial followed at Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery in Columbus.

Trusted pallbearers included Charles Hughes, Daniel Hughes, Cameron Neely, JT Neely, Randy Reed and Carl Stovall.

Memorials may be made in Annabelle’s memory to Glidden Baptist Church, 209 8th St., Glidden, Texas 78943.
